I bought a fender rhodes
I started composing,
that`s how my story goes
Willy was the drummer and
Tommy played the bass
Manni´s got a gibson,
it sounds like purple haze
We grew up with the Beatles,
Led Zepplin and the Stones
We played our songs with passion
that hit you to your bones
We played a 5/4 and a7/8 as well
and tried at almost every style
from heaven down to hell

pluck and play - don`t think twice

We had no beats per minute,
no Atari nor a Mac
We could`nt change the tempo
nor quantise all the tracks

we played them all by heart
there wasn´t such a button

and after we have practiced

mostly on a revox
and always in one take
We only had a mic
for the bassdrum and the voice
as far as I remember
